Summary. MarkScheme collects nothing. It has no account system, no analytics, no advertising, no tracking and no cloud sync. Everything you enter stays on your Mac, in the app's own storage, until you delete it.

The app stores the following locally, inside its sandboxed application container:

You choose what a candidate identifier contains. We recommend candidate numbers, initials or seat numbers rather than full names. The app never requires a real name and never asks for one.
CSV import and PDF/CSV export use the standard macOS open and save panels. The app can only read or write the specific file you select. It does not scan your disk, index your documents or access any location you have not chosen.
Purchases and subscriptions are processed entirely by Apple through the App Store using StoreKit. We never see, receive or store your payment details, Apple Account email or billing address. Apple provides us only anonymous, aggregated sales reporting. Apple's handling of that transaction is governed by Apple's Privacy Policy.
The app contains no third-party SDKs, no analytics libraries, no advertising networks and no social logins. No data is shared with, sold to or disclosed to any third party, because no data leaves your device.
MarkScheme is a professional tool intended for teachers, lecturers and examiners. It is not directed at children and does not knowingly collect information from anyone, of any age.
Because we hold no personal data about you, there is nothing for us to access, export, correct or erase on your behalf. You remain in full control of the data on your Mac:
Where the GDPR, UK GDPR, CCPA/CPRA or similar laws apply, our lawful basis for the purely local processing performed by the app is the performance of the contract you enter into when you purchase it. No cross-border transfer of personal data takes place.
The app runs inside the macOS App Sandbox with hardened runtime enabled. Your data is protected by macOS file protections and, if you enable it, FileVault disk encryption.
If this policy changes we will update this page and revise the date above. Material changes will also be noted in the app's release notes.
