Purchases & subscriptions

How do I restore a purchase I already made?

Open More › Purchases › Restore Purchases. This is always available, whether or not you are currently subscribed. It is also on the paywall screen. Make sure you are signed in with the same Apple Account you originally bought with — a purchase belongs to an Apple Account, not to a device.

How do I cancel my subscription?

Subscriptions are managed by Apple, not by us. Go to iOS Settings › your name › Subscriptions › Fishing Log, or open apps.apple.com/account/subscriptions, and turn off auto-renew. Cancel at least 24 hours before your period ends, or you will be charged for the next one.

How does the 3-day free trial work?

New subscribers get 3 days free on the yearly plan. If you do not cancel at least 24 hours before the trial ends, it becomes a paid yearly subscription automatically. You can cancel during the trial at any time and you will not be charged.

I bought Pro but the app still shows the paywall.

Tap Restore Purchases on the paywall. If it still does not unlock, check that the Apple Account signed in under iOS Settings › Media & Purchases is the one that made the purchase, then email us and we will help.

Can I get a refund?

Refunds are issued by Apple, not by us. Request one at reportaproblem.apple.com.

Using the app

How do I pin a catch to a GPS spot?

While logging a catch, tap Use Current Location. iOS will ask for location permission the first time. The coordinate is saved with that catch and appears on your Map tab. You can also tap Save as New Spot to name the place and reuse it later.

Why does the app ask for location?

Only so it can pin the exact coordinate where you landed a fish. It is requested only when you tap “Use Current Location”, it never runs in the background, and the coordinate stays on your device. See our Privacy Policy.

What is a “hot spot”?

Any saved spot that has produced three or more fish is flagged automatically with a flame marker on your map. You do not have to do anything.

Does Fishing Log work without a signal?

Yes. The whole app works offline. It does not download forecasts or tides — weather and water temperature are fields you fill in yourself — so it keeps working on a lake or offshore with no bars.

Can I switch between pounds and kilograms?

Yes. More › Measurements › Units switches the whole app between Imperial (in / lb / °F) and Metric (cm / kg / °C). Your existing catches convert automatically. Tackle costs are always recorded in US dollars.

How do I get my data out?

More › Your Data › Export Catch Log to CSV writes your entire log — species, size, weight, bait, spot, coordinates, trip, conditions and notes — to a spreadsheet file you can share anywhere.

Where is my data stored? Is it backed up?

On your device only. We have no server and no copy of your log. It is included in your normal iPhone backup (iCloud or Finder). If you delete the app, the log is permanently gone — so export a CSV first if you want to keep it.

I found a bug, or I want a feature.
