1. Who we are
Fishing Log: Catch Tracker (“the app”) is developed and published by MD Shahariar Nazim Joy (“we”, “us”). You can reach us at dmjks120@gmail.com.
2. Data we collect
We collect nothing. The app has no analytics SDK, no advertising SDK, no crash-reporting service, no tracking pixels and no third-party data processors. We do not operate a server that receives your data, so there is nothing for us to see, store, sell or lose.
3. Data the app stores on your device
Everything you enter is written to a private database inside the app’s own sandbox on your device, using Apple’s SwiftData framework. This includes:

None of this ever leaves your device unless you choose to export it or share it, for example by using the CSV export and then sending that file somewhere yourself.
4. Device permissions
Location (“While Using the App”)
The app asks for location access only at the moment you tap “Use Current Location” while logging a catch or saving a spot. The coordinate is written into that catch or spot on your device and drawn on your private map. We do not track you in the background, and your coordinates are never uploaded anywhere. Fishing Log works fine if you decline — you can still log catches without a GPS pin.
Camera
The app asks for camera access only when you tap “Take Photo” to photograph a fish. The photo is saved inside the app on your device and attached to that catch. Fishing Log works fine if you decline — a catch does not need a photo.
Photo library
When you tap “Choose Photo”, the app uses Apple’s system photo picker. That picker runs outside the app and hands back only the single image you select, so Fishing Log never requests access to your photo library and never sees any other photo in it.
5. Purchases
Fishing Log is a paid app. Subscriptions and the one-time Lifetime purchase are handled entirely by Apple through In-App Purchase and StoreKit. We never see or receive your name, email address, payment card or billing address — Apple processes all of that. The app only asks Apple a yes-or-no question: “does this Apple Account own Fishing Log Pro?”
Apple’s handling of your purchase data is governed by Apple’s Privacy Policy.
6. Children
Fishing Log is not directed at children under 13, and we do not knowingly collect data from anyone — of any age — because we do not collect data at all.
7. Your rights and control
Because your data lives only on your device, you are always in full control of it:
- Export it. More › Export Catch Log to CSV gives you a full copy of your log.
- Delete any of it. Delete individual catches, trips, spots or tackle items in the app.
- Delete all of it. Deleting Fishing Log from your device permanently erases the app’s database, including every catch, photo and coordinate. We keep no backup, because we never had a copy.
- Revoke permissions. Turn off Location or Camera any time in iOS Settings › Fishing Log.
Since we hold no personal data about you, there is nothing for us to disclose, correct or delete on request under the GDPR, the CCPA or similar laws. If you would still like to exercise a right or ask a question, write to dmjks120@gmail.com and we will respond within 30 days.
8. Third parties
Fishing Log contains no third-party analytics, advertising, attribution or tracking software. We do not share data with third parties, because we do not have any of your data to share. The only company involved in your use of the app is Apple, and only for the purpose of processing purchases and delivering the app.
9. Data collected for tracking
Fishing Log does not track you across apps or websites owned by other companies, and does not use the Advertising Identifier (IDFA). Our App Store privacy label is “Data Not Collected”.
10. Changes to this policy
If this policy ever changes, the updated version will be posted on this page with a new “last updated” date. Material changes will also be noted in the app’s release notes.
