Frequently asked questions

I paid, but the app still asks me to purchase

Open the app and tap Restore Purchases — it’s on the purchase screen, and also in Settings → Subscription → Restore Purchases after you’ve bought. Make sure you are signed in to the same Apple Account you used to buy. If it still doesn’t unlock, email us.

How do I cancel my subscription?

Open iOS Settings → tap your name → Subscriptions → Dive Log, then tap Cancel Subscription. You can also open it directly from inside the app: Settings → Manage Subscription. Cancel at least 24 hours before your renewal date so you are not charged for the next period.

How does the 3-day free trial work?

The Yearly plan starts with a 3-day free trial if you are eligible for an introductory offer. You are not charged during the trial. If you don’t cancel at least 24 hours before it ends, it converts to a paid yearly subscription at $19.99 per year.

Can I get a refund?

All purchases go through Apple, so refunds are handled by Apple. Request one at reportaproblem.apple.com.

Does my data go to a server?

No. Dive Log has no account and no server. Every dive, photo, certification and gear item is stored only on your device. See the Privacy Policy.

How do I back up or move my logbook?

Use Settings → Export Logbook (CSV) to save or share a spreadsheet of every dive. Your device’s iCloud Backup also includes the app’s data.

Why does the app ask for my location?

Only when you tap “Use My Location” while adding a dive site, so it can record that site’s GPS coordinates and pin it on your dive map. Nothing is uploaded. You can decline and type coordinates yourself, or leave them blank.

Why does it ask for photo access?

Only when you tap “Add Photos” on a dive or a certification. The photos you pick are copied into the app on your device. Nothing is uploaded.

Can I switch between metres and feet?

Yes — Settings → Units. Depths, temperature, weights and pressure all switch together.

Does Dive Log sync with my dive computer?

Not currently. Dive Log is a manual logbook. Enter your max depth, bottom time, temperature and pressures from your computer after the dive.

Does Dive Log plan dives or calculate decompression?

No, and it never will. Dive Log records dives you have already made. It is not a dive computer, dive planner or dive table, and it must never be used to make a decision affecting your safety underwater. Always dive within the limits of your certification and follow your instructor or dive centre.
