Frequently asked questions

Does the app work offline?

Yes. All content is bundled with the app. Nothing is downloaded and no connection is required after installation.

Do I need an account?

No. There is no sign-up, no login and no email address to give us.

How does the province selector change things?

Choosing your province or territory sets the mock test’s item count, time limit and pass mark to that jurisdiction’s published knowledge-test format, and changes the endorsement wording used throughout the app. Change it from the pin button on the Home screen, from Settings › Province or Territory, or from the Learn tab. Formats shown in the app are this app’s practice settings, written from each authority’s publicly published material — always confirm the current format with your own licensing authority before you book.

I bought the app and it still shows the purchase screen.

Tap Restore Purchases on that screen. If it still does not unlock, confirm you are signed into the same Apple Account that made the purchase, in iOS Settings at the top of the list. If it is a subscription, check it is still active in Settings › [your name] › Subscriptions. If it is still not working, email us.

Where is Restore Purchases after I have bought?

Settings › Subscription › Restore Purchases, reachable from the gear icon on the Home screen. It is always available, before and after a purchase.

How do I cancel a subscription?

Open iOS Settings, tap your name, tap Subscriptions, choose Canadian Air Brake Prep and cancel. You keep access until the end of the period you have paid for. You can also reach it from Settings › Subscription › Manage Subscription in the app.

Can I use it on my iPad and iPhone?

Yes. The app is universal, and a purchase made with your Apple Account works on every device signed into that account. Study progress is stored per device.

Where do the pressure values and limits come from?

They are written from the publicly published provincial air brake manuals and the National Safety Code standards. Every rationale names the source it was written from, and the full list is in Sources & Citations, reachable from Learn, Practice, Settings and every content screen. Because figures vary by province and by vehicle and change over time, confirm each one against your provincial manual and the manufacturer’s specification.

How do I reset my progress?

Settings › Study Data › Reset Progress, or from the bottom of the Progress tab. It cannot be undone.

How do I turn the daily reminder on or off?

Settings › Study Reminder. The permission prompt appears only when you switch the reminder on.

Accessibility

The app supports Dynamic Type, VoiceOver, Bold Text, Reduce Motion, Increase Contrast and full light and dark appearance. The inspection sequence drill is built around tapping rather than dragging so it works with VoiceOver and Switch Control. If something is hard to use, tell us and we will fix it.
