The app is licensed, not sold, under Apple's Standard End User License Agreement (EULA), which applies in full. The terms below add app-specific detail and, where they conflict with Apple's EULA on a matter Apple's EULA covers, Apple's EULA prevails.

1. What the app is

Boating Licence Prep Canada is independent, unofficial study material for the Canadian boating safety test that leads to the Pleasure Craft Operator Card. Every question, rationale, diagram and checklist in it is original material written for this app.

3. Accuracy and your own responsibility

Boating law changes. Equipment requirements, fines, speed limits and local restrictions are all subject to change, and local restrictions differ from waterway to waterway. Always confirm the current requirement against the Canada Shipping Act, 2001 and its regulations, or with the responsible authority, before relying on anything in this app. You are responsible for the safe and lawful operation of your vessel.

4. Purchases and subscriptions

A purchase is required to use the app. There is no free tier and no free sample content. Prices are shown in US dollars; the App Store charges in your local currency.

5. Licence and acceptable use

You get a personal, non-transferable licence to use the app on devices you own or control, as permitted by Apple's EULA. You may not copy, redistribute, resell, scrape or republish the question bank, the rationales, the diagrams or any other content, and you may not use them to build a competing product or training material.

6. Intellectual property

All original content, artwork and code in the app belong to MD Shahariar Nazim Joy. Third-party names, including Transport Canada, are used only descriptively to identify the test the material helps you study for, and all trademarks remain the property of their respective owners.

The app contains information licensed under the Open Government Licence – Canada. Source: Transport Canada. The app is not produced with the help, endorsement or approval of Transport Canada or the Government of Canada, and it is not an official version of any government publication.

8. Disclaimer of warranties and limitation of liability

The app is provided “as is” and “as available”, without warranty of any kind to the fullest extent permitted by law, including any warranty that its content is current, complete or error-free, or that using it will result in passing any test. To the fullest extent permitted by law, MD Shahariar Nazim Joy is not liable for any indirect, incidental, special or consequential loss arising from your use of the app, and total liability is limited to the amount you paid for it.

9. Changes and termination

We may update the app and these terms. Material changes will be posted here with a new date. We may suspend or discontinue the app; if we do, existing subscription periods will be handled in accordance with Apple's policies.
