Something not working, or a question about your purchase? Get in touch — a real person (the developer) reads every message.
To help us fix things faster, please include your device model (for example, iPhone 15), your iOS version, and a short description of what you did and what happened. Screenshots are very welcome.
Frequently asked questions
How do I restore my purchase?
If you have reinstalled the app, moved to a new device, or the app is asking you to pay again for something you already bought, use Restore Purchases:
- Open Coffee Brew Log: Barista.
- Go to the Settings tab.
- Tap Restore Purchases.
Restore Purchases also appears on the paywall itself, so you can restore before buying anything if the app is locked. Make sure you are signed in to the same Apple Account you originally purchased with — purchases are tied to the Apple Account, not to the device. If the restore still does not unlock the app, email us and we will help.
How do I cancel my subscription?
Subscriptions are managed by Apple, not inside the app. On your device, go to Settings > Apple Account > Subscriptions, tap Coffee Brew Log: Barista, and choose Cancel Subscription. You can also open https://apps.apple.com/account/subscriptions directly.
To avoid being charged for the next period, cancel at least 24 hours before the current period ends. You keep access until the end of the period you have already paid for.
Does the app work offline?
Yes — fully. Coffee Brew Log: Barista is 100% offline. Every feature (the brew log, the guided timer, bean inventory, recipes, the dial-in coach and the stats) works with no internet connection at all. There is no account and no login. The only time a connection helps is when Apple needs to verify a new purchase or a restore.
Where is my data stored?
Only on your device. Your brews, beans, recipes and notes are saved in a private local database on your iPhone or iPad using Apple's SwiftData framework. Nothing is uploaded, and the developer has no server and no copy of your data. Deleting the app deletes its data permanently, so we cannot restore your brew history for you. See the Privacy Policy for the full details.
How do I request a refund?
All purchases are processed by Apple, so refunds are handled by Apple too — we are not able to issue them ourselves. Request a refund at https://reportaproblem.apple.com, sign in with your Apple Account, find Coffee Brew Log: Barista and choose the appropriate option. Apple decides refund requests at its discretion.
What is the free trial?
The yearly plan includes a 3-day free trial for eligible new subscribers. You get full access during the trial. Unless you cancel at least 24 hours before it ends, the trial converts automatically into a paid yearly subscription and your Apple Account is charged. You can cancel at any point during the trial in Settings > Apple Account > Subscriptions.
Why do I need to purchase to use the app?
Coffee Brew Log: Barista is a paid app with a hard paywall: a subscription or the one-time lifetime unlock is required to use it. That is a deliberate choice. The app has no ads, no analytics and no trackers, and it never sells or even sees your data — so purchases are what fund its development and ongoing maintenance, rather than advertising or data collection.
You can choose whichever suits you: a monthly subscription, a yearly subscription (which includes the 3-day free trial), or a one-time lifetime purchase if you would rather not have a recurring charge. All prices are in US dollars and are shown to you before you confirm.
The brew timer notification didn't appear
The timer uses local notifications to tell you when a step has finished. If they are not appearing, check that notifications are allowed for the app in Settings > Notifications > Coffee Brew Log: Barista, and that Focus or Do Not Disturb is not silencing them. Notifications are optional — the app works without them, you will just need to watch the timer on screen.
Which devices are supported?
Coffee Brew Log: Barista is a native iOS app for iPhone and iPad. The guided timer's Live Activity appears on the Lock Screen on iPhone models and iOS versions that support Live Activities.
