Help with Quit Smoking: Smoke Free for iPhone and iPad.
Contact us
We reply to every email, normally within 2 business days.
To help us answer quickly, tell us your device model, your iOS version, and what you were doing when the problem happened. Please do not send us screenshots that contain personal or medical information you would rather keep private — we do not need them.
Frequently asked questions
The quick answers to the things people ask most.
How do I restore my purchase?
Open the app, go to the Settings tab and tap Restore Purchases. Your entitlement is tied to your Apple Account, so this is what you use after getting a new iPhone or iPad, after reinstalling the app, or if the app stops recognising a subscription or Lifetime Access purchase you already own.
Make sure you are signed in to the same Apple Account that made the original purchase — restoring will not find a purchase made on a different account. If it still does not restore, email us at dmjks120@gmail.com.
How do I cancel my subscription?
Cancellation is handled by Apple, not inside the app:
- Open the iOS Settings app.
- Tap your name at the top to open Apple Account.
- Tap Subscriptions.
- Select Quit Smoking: Smoke Free and tap Cancel Subscription.
Cancel at least 24 hours before the end of the current period, otherwise the subscription renews. You keep access until the end of the period you have already paid for. Deleting the app does not cancel the subscription — you must cancel in Settings.
Refunds are handled by Apple. Request one at reportaproblem.apple.com. Lifetime Access is a one-time purchase and has nothing to cancel.
How do I change my quit date?
Go to the Settings tab and tap Edit quit plan. From there you can change your quit date, as well as how much you used to smoke or vape and what it cost — the smoke-free clock, money saved and health recovery timeline all recalculate from the new date.
If you slipped and want to start again, this is the place to do it. Restarting the clock does not delete your craving history.
Is my data private?
Yes. Everything you enter stays on your device in a local SwiftData store. The app has no accounts, no servers, no analytics SDKs, no ads and no third-party trackers, and it never uploads your quit plan, cravings or notes anywhere. We cannot see your data, and we have no way to retrieve it.
The app does not use your camera, contacts, photos, location, microphone or HealthKit. The only permission it may ask for is optional local notifications, which you can decline while still using every other feature. Purchases are processed by Apple, and we never see your payment details.
To erase everything, use Reset all data in the Settings tab, or delete the app. Full details in the Privacy Policy.
Where do the health milestones come from?
The 12-milestone health recovery timeline reproduces published population-level estimates from recognised public-health bodies. It is not a measurement of your body and it is not medical advice. The sources are:
- American Cancer Society — Health Benefits of Quitting Smoking Over Time
- U.S. Centers for Disease Control and Prevention — Smoking and Tobacco Use
- UK NHS — Quit Smoking
- U.S. Surgeon General — Smoking Cessation: A Report of the Surgeon General (2020)
Quit Smoking: Smoke Free is a self-tracking tool, not a medical device. Talk to a physician about quitting. In the U.S., the free national quitline is 1-800-QUIT-NOW (1-800-784-8669).
How do I add the widget?
Home Screen widget:
- Touch and hold an empty area of your Home Screen until the icons jiggle.
- Tap the Edit button, then Add Widget (on older iOS versions, tap the + in the corner).
- Search for Quit Smoking: Smoke Free, choose the size you want, and tap Add Widget.
- Drag it where you want it and tap Done.
Lock Screen widget:
- Touch and hold the Lock Screen, then tap Customise and choose Lock Screen.
- Tap the widget area below the clock.
- Pick Quit Smoking: Smoke Free from the list, then tap Done.
If the app does not appear in the widget list, open it once first, then try again — iOS needs to have launched the app at least once before its widgets are offered.
Do I need an internet connection?
No. The app works fully offline. A connection is only needed the first time you buy or restore a purchase, because that check goes to Apple's App Store.
Is there a free version?
No. Quit Smoking: Smoke Free requires a subscription or a one-time purchase to use — there is no free tier. Quit Smoking Pro Monthly is US$3.99/month, Quit Smoking Pro Yearly is US$19.99/year (with a 3-day free trial for new subscribers), and Lifetime Access is a one-time US$29.99 purchase. See the Terms of Use for full subscription terms.
